There are a number of scenic hikes and trails, as well as a our popular Sand River Waterfall hike. A short drive and you are in Addo National Park, the Baviaanskloof, Groendal Nature Reserve or the Longmore Forest which all offer spectacular views and trails. Sand River Getaway is in a great position for mountain bikers to enter the Longmore Forest or cycle along the Elands River road. If you are not feeling adventurous, breath in the valley while you enjoy personal pleasures from a sunny deck or in the pool. Perfect for backpackers visiting the Port Elizabeth area or a weekend getaway for families.

Please note that all bathrooms are centralized at a short walk away from each unit.
Please note we are off the grid - There is no electricity in any of the tented units or cabin.
Solar lights over the braai areas and pathways create some lighting but it is advisable to bring along
your own lamps and torches.

* 22-30 days prior to check in date - Forfeit 25% of deposit
*15-21 days prior to check in date - Forfeit 50% of deposit
* 8-14 days prior to check in date - Forfeit 80% of deposit
*0-7 days prior to check in date - Forfeit 100% of deposit.

Waterfall Hike and trails
Sand River Getaway is the home of the ever-popular Waterfall Hike, a 10km kloofing experience that takes you upstream through the Sand River, navigating riverbed trails, crystal clear rock pools and stunning waterfalls.
We are currently in the process of cutting extensive mountain biking trails that will excite the most experienced mountain bikers and trail runners, so watch this space! Phase one is complete, with 10km of epic trail to explore.
